With Miami Art 2014 coming to a close last week, visitors to the high profile event were able to enjoy the presence of a host of new luxury stores in the Miami Design District.

Located in the district’s new Palm Court, renowned luxury brands including Valentino, Bulgari, Piaget, Hublot, Tag Heuer, IWC, Jaeger Le-Coultre, Vacheron Constantin are now represented, adding to Miami’s already vibrant reputation for shopping.

The court itself is a sight to behold, with a reproduction of R. Buckminster Fuller’s Fly’s Eye Dome positioned as a centrepiece attraction along with a sculpture of Le Corbusier situated nearby.

The area will eventually be extended to include the southern half of Paseo Ponti, a pedestrian street that will stretch from 38th to 42nd street.

Miami Design District, is a neighbourhood of greater Midtown Miami and is made up primarily of old low-rise warehouses and gallery spaces that have been reconverted into retail spaces, art galleries, restaurants and cafés.
