Luxury Yacht Hotel To Open in Gibraltar
Property development and investment company Sunborn are to open a new luxury floating hotel in Gibraltar early this year set aboard a permanently moored 142-metre vessel.
Located in Gibraltar’s Ocean Village Marina, Sunborn Gibraltar is billed as the world's first 5-star yacht hotel. It features 189 rooms, each with floor-to-ceiling windows, offering guests striking views of the surrounding ocean and coastline, including Gibraltar’s iconic ‘Rock’.
The unique hotel is spread over seven storeys and boasts an array of lavish facilities including cocktail lounges, conference rooms, ballroom, casino, spa and fitness centre, and fine dining restaurants.
Custom-built in Malaysia, the giant vessel is attached to the dock via six ulta-strong hydraulic arms, each weighing eight tons.
The Sunborn Gibraltar will be the first of a fleet of luxury yacht hotels created by Sunborn, with further residences scheduled for London and Barcelona, as well as North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Russia.
