A luxury resort in the Maldives is offering guests a unique place to rest their heads at night – in a ‘net bed’ hovering over the pristine waters below.

The Grand Park Kodhipparu resort has created the unique offering so that guests can feel as close as possible to the region's gentle ocean waters and stunning natural surroundings even after retiring to their room for the night.

The resort has a total of 120 villas, most of which areperched over the water and some on the beachfront. The over-water hammock beds are located in the water facing villas, which also feature their own private swimming pool.

Speaking about the netted beds, Arushi Gupta, the resort’s marketing manager, said, “Each villa, apart from the beach villas, have the over-water beds installed and they have proven to be one of the most Instagrammable spots.

“We receive an overwhelming response from our guests all of the time.”

Water-facing facilities are becoming hugely popular in a Maldives. Back in 2017, the Soneva Jani resort unveiled a villa with its own in-room water slide..

Located on its own island on the North Male Atoll, The Grand Park Kodhipparu resort in the Maldives can be reached via a 20-minute speedboat ride from the airport.
