Mandarin Oriental in Taiwan Named World’s Best Hotel Spa

By Paul Joseph

The Mandarin Oriental Taipei in Taiwan, which opened last year, has been named the world’s best hotel spa for 2015 at the World Luxury Spa Awards.

Featuring an interior design by Yabu Pushelberg, the spa is spread over 3,500 square metres and two separate floors.

It comprises 12 treatment rooms, as well as a beauty salon, tea lounge and boutique, fitness and wellness centre, multi-function fitness studio and outdoor heated swimming pool.

The annual World Luxury Spa Awards recognises excellence in spa service. Each year, almost 40,000 guests from over 140 countries choose winners by voting for their favourite spas.

The award follows on from the hotel being included in “The 2015 Hot List” of new hotels at the recent US Conde Nast Traveler Awards.

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group was formed in 1985 as part of a merger between two luxury Asian Hotels: The Mandarin in Hong Kong and The Oriental in Bangkok.
