Marriot Launch Luxury Vacation Rentals Project

Hotel brands around the world continue to be proactive in their efforts to deal with the challenges of the burgeoning home-sharing market led by Airbnb.

The latest to respond to this growing competition is Marriot, who have launched an all-new Homes and Villas project, a collection of over 2,000 vacation rentals across 100 destinations throughout the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

The project is an expansion of the Tribute Portfolio Homes – a pilot programme that was launched in London last year and encompassed over 340 homes by London-based property management company Hostmaker.

Now guests will be able to experience stays at plush homes featuring one or more bedrooms, a full kitchen, and in-unit laundry. They will also have access to round-the-clock customer support as well as an in-person welcome and check-in through Hostmaker.

Speaking about the project, Adam Malamut, chief customer experience officer at Marriott International in a statement said, “Expanding into home sharing is an opportunity to deepen relationships with our most loyal guests by delivering new experiences designed to reflect how they travel.”

Last year Marriott encroached into the funky world of festivals by creating a collection of luxury yurts for the 2018 edition of the Coachella music and arts festival in California.
