Maserati Brings Back Royal Nameplate Special Edition Series

By Paul Joseph

The 1986 Royale version of the 3rd-generation Maserati Quattroporte is still considered as one of the most beautiful Maseratis ever made, with only 51 examples ever made.

The famed Italian automaker has decided to pay tribute to the legendary model by announcing a special series of Royal editions, which include limited units of the manufacturer’s V6-powered Quattroporte, Levante, and Ghibli.

Maserati will build only 100 examples of the new Royal edition across the three models. In terms of special touches, the exterior gets two unique colours: Blu Royale and Verde Royale.

The Levante Royale also features 21-inch Anteo anthracite alloy wheels, while the Quattroporte and Ghibli Royale variants receive 21-inch Titanium anthracite wheels. Furthermore, the brake calipers are finished in silver.

Inside the cabin, the buyers can choose between the Zegna Pelletessuta, a special woven leather textile made out of thin strips of Nappa leather, and a two-tone Pieno Fiore leather option.

The cabin also gets high gloss inserts – Metal Net for the Levante, Ebony for the Ghibli and Black Piano for the Quattroporte.

The special edition also gets a “One of 100” plaque on the inside, while the Royal edition also features a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, electric sunroof, and privacy glass.

Deliveries are set to begin this March, with pricing starting at £78,900 in the UK.
