Art lovers from around the world are set to descend on London later this month for the 2015 edition of Masterpiece, an international fair for art, antiques and design.

Taking place once again at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in west London, this year’s event is hoping to trump the previous edition, which saw a total of a billion pounds worth of art sales.

Drawing collectors and museum curators from all corners of the globe, over 150 galleries will be present to showcase their museum-quality works spanning 4,000 years of art history, from antiquity to the present day.

Nazy Vassegh, Chief Executive of Masterpiece said: “The 8 days when Masterpiece takes place is the epicentre of the art season in London. After just five years Masterpiece is now firmly regarded as both a leading international art fair and a welcome addition to the summer season in London.”

Since the fair’s foundation, world-renowned institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Rijksmuseum, MoMA, British Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, The Getty and Tate have all purchased works displayed at Masterpiece.

This year Masterpiece welcomes the Wallace Collection, the National Portrait Gallery, The Courtauld Institute of Art and Sir John Soane’s Museum as its official Cultural Partners.
