MB&F Unveil the Astrograph Rocket Pen

By Paul Joseph

Avant-garde Swiss watch brand MB&F have created an innovative mechanical pen, called Astrograph, complete with rocket-shaped fuselage.

The pen also features a miniature astronaut, shock-absorbing “switchblade” landing gear and a case designed like a launch pad.

After the table clocks co-created with L'Epée 1839 and the music boxes co-created with Reuge, Astrograph is the result of a new creative partnership between MB&F and Caran d'Ache.

For any Swiss citizen, Caran d'Ache is something of an institution: as a child your first box of crayons was almost certainly supplied by their amazing, fully integrated manufacture in Geneva.

Astrograph is available either as an 18-karat gold-tipped fountain pen (3 finishes in ruthenium, rhodium or sandblasted rhodium) or a roller pen (sandblasted rhodium), each limited to 99 pieces – reflecting the pen’s 99 components.

MB&F was founded by Maximilian Büsser in Geneva, Switzerland in 2005.
