British automotive manufacturer McLaren has released a special edition version of its 650S model.

Available in a one-off dark blue shade, the 2015 McLaren 650S coupe has been inspired by the race-winning Chassis #01 McLaren F1 GTR, and boasts a striking roof snorkel and louvered fender vents at the front.

Other notable features include MSO forged alloy wheels accompanied with distinctive orange brake calipers, a carbon fibre rear bumper, carbon rear diffuser and a one-off dark blue shade.

In terms of performance, the special edition car houses a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 641 hp at 7250 rpm and 678 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. The coupe can reach 62 mph mark in below 3 seconds and 124 mph in 8.4 seconds.

The 2015 McLaren 650S will be available in a strictly limited unit run of 50.

Earlier this year, McLaren launched its original 650S model, billed as the “fastest, most engaging, best equipped and most beautiful series-production supercar yet”.

Better known as a Formula One team, McLaren has designed high-end road sports cars since 1989.
