The eagerly awaited Mercedes-AMG Project ONE will celebrate its world premier at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt later this month.

A two-seater supersports showcar, Project One is billed as bringing the very latest fully-fledged Formula 1 hybrid technology to the consumer market.

The specific details of the model have been closely guarded until now, but with its global debut just over a week away, all has now been revealed.

What we've learned is that its high-performance spec includes the F1-based 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engine and four electric motors, an output of over 1000 hp and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h.

According to its creators, the car combines outstanding racetrack performance with day-to-day suitable Formula 1 hybrid technology and exemplary efficiency.

It will go into limited production of just 275 units each costing $2.54 million.

Project One will be on display at the Frankfurt International Motor Show from 14 – 24 September.
