Mercedes Creates High-Tech Golf Cart Concept
Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an ultra-high tech golf cart concept featuring a futuristic design and a range of state-of-the-art functionalities.
First displayed at the 2013 British Open, the solar-chargeable Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart is being billed as the most advanced golf cart concept of all time.
It boasts a host of features previously unknown in golf buggies, including being road legal and able to drive on asphalt along with conventional cars.
In terms of its stand-out features, the Vision Golf Cart can be controlled by an iPad placed at the centre console, which can help golfers connect with the club house, receive weather updates, upload scorecards online and post photos of themselves directly from the golf course.
The system also has a ‘fore’ button that warns other golfers digitally about stray shots, whilst the cabin is enclosed by light-weight doors and air-conditioning.
In recent years a number of golf car concepts have been unveiled, including the BW1 hovercraft golf cart, which glides over the grass to ensure no damage is done to the turf.
