Montblanc Adds New Watches to Heritage Chronométrie Collection
German luxury goods brand Montblanc has added three new watches to its Heritage Chronométrie collection, each billed as offering a more contemporary design.
The latest additions to the collection include two new interpretations of the patented ExoTourbillon Slim which was launched in 2016.
The first watch in the new collection is the Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Perpetual Calendar Sapphire, featuring the same movement as the 2014 perpetual calendar. The 2018 edition comes with a new 40mm stainless steel case with slimmer lugs, a fully polished finishing and new dial design.
The perpetual calendar indications are featured on transparent counters that are in a shade of dark-blue colour. This watch is priced at around $15,000
The latest Heritage Chronométrie Exo Tourbillon Slim, meanwhile, offers a classic non-open worked interpretation of the watch. Housed in a 40mm 18-karat white gold case, it boasts a dial that reveals the Exo Tourbillon at 6 o’clock and the hours and minutes on the central axis. It is priced at approximately $39,000.
Finally, the Heritage Chronométrie Exo Tourbillon Slim Openworked watch, like the other two watches, comes in a new 40mm, 18-karat white gold case. It has slimmer lugs to emphasise the dial and its patented tourbillon mechanism.
The highlight of the watch, however, is the decoration used on the movement. The bridges and plates have been opened to reveal the mechanics, and the dial is rendered in a combination of grey and dark blue tracks, with blued hands. This watch is priced at about $46,700.
Montblanc was founded by Claus-Johannes Voss, Alfred Nehemias and August Eberstein in Germany in 1908.
