Montblanc Expands Star Legacy Line with New Ladies Watch

By Paul Joseph

German luxury goods brand Montblanc has expanded its Star Legacy line of timepieces by adding a new ladies’ Moonphase and Date model to the hugely popular range.

Inspired by Minerva’s rich heritage and the company’s pocket watches that were made during the late 19th and early 20th century, Montblanc has followed the launch of the Star Legacy Small Seconds 32mm and 36mm watches in stainless steel and 18-karat rose gold with the new piece.

The watch comes in a 36mm stainless steel case with a silvery-white dial that features the Maison’s exploding star guilloché pattern in the centre, which is further enhanced by black rhodium-coated, Arabic numerals, indexes and leaf-shaped hands.

The date counter at 6 o’clock is encircled by an elegant and distinctive diamond ring, while the window for the moonphase complication is located between 10 and 11 o’clock.

It follows the progression of the moon through its different phases of the new moon, first quarter, full moon and last quarter, highlighting the illuminated portion of the moon as it would be seen from Earth. The Star Legacy Moonphase & Date is powered by an automatic movement, the Caliber MB24.08.

The timepiece will be available with vibrant Sfumato alligator straps in varying shades of grey, crafted by the Richemont Pelletteria.

The word Sfumato is Italian for “smokey” or “blurred” and refers to a process that achieves delicate graduation between colours by blending areas into one another through the superimposition of many layers of thin paint.

Pricing for the Star Legacy Moonphase & Date has not yet been confirmed.
