Montblanc Team up with Marc Newson for Special Edition Pens

By Paul Joseph

German luxury label Montblanc has collaborated with world renowned designer Marc Newson to create a novel collection of special edition writing instruments.

An augmented version of Montblanc’s ‘M’ pens, the exclusive Montblanc M RED features bold accentuations thanks to Marc Newton’s creative touch and includes a brushed palladium nickel coating on the cap and barrel along with a red lacquer wrap near the tip of the pen.

The pen, which will raise money for research into AIDS, also features a Montblanc emblem ultrasonically fused on the top of the cap and a deluxe platinum-plated clip around the side.

Speaking about the partnership, Jennifer Lotito, COO of (RED), said,  “In this pivotal year in the fight against AIDS, we are enormously proud to see (RED)’s partnership with Montblanc grow and evolve with the launch of the beautiful (RED) Trolley Cabin and new signature writing instruments.

“Iconic brands like Montblanc demonstrate the important role the private sector plays by not only generating money for the Global Fund, but by campaigning to keep this disease – and our ability to end it – on the public agenda. We thank them enormously for their continued support,”

For every MONTBLANC M RED pen sold, the marquee will be donated around $6 to the Global Fund to support HIV/AIDS programs.

The M RED collection is currently available for purchase on Montblanc’s website for $1,450 for the fountain pen and $430 for the rollerball edition.
