By Paul Joseph

Italian luxury goods company Montegrappa has commemorated Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the moon with a brand new timepiece.

Called the Moon Landing, the NASA-approved watch was inspired by the Apollo 11 Saturn V rocket and the engineering genius behind it.

Handmade in Italy, the pen comes with an aluminium body accented with stainless steel trims and an 18-karat solid gold nib.

The piece also boasts textured and polished surface details on the cap and body along with a fully functional clip in the shape of a stairway structure supporting the rocket. The pen is further laser-etched with an image of the USA flag.

The standard edition is available in fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint formats, while the limited edition comprises of 363 fountain pens in resin and Sterling Silver.

The pen is currently available for purchase on the official Montegrappa website, with prices ranging from €365 – €395.

Montegrappa was founded in Italy in 1912.
