Mr Porter and Black Tomato Launch ‘Insider Track’ Video Campaign

By Paul Joseph

Bespoke travel experts Black Tomato and men’s online style destination Mr Porter.com have teamed up to launch a series of videos and trips inspired by the fashion and lifestyles of designers from four corners of the globe.

The partnership celebrates the merging of fashion and travel, putting the spotlight on selection of iconic fashion hubs and top travel destinations from around the world.

The first of four videos, as seen above, offers an insight into the Los Angeles lifestyle of Mr Porter partner designer Greg Chait and how his label ‘The Elder Statesman’ has been influenced by the relaxed style of West Coast living.

The exclusive trip is the first in the limited edition ‘The Insider Track’ collection that will allow travellers the opportunity to liaise and customise their trip with one of Black Tomato’s expert advisors who will suggest top hotels and experiences to suit every requirement and incorporate elements of Greg Chait’s insider recommendations.

Meanwhile Mr Porter will stock handpicked collections of The Elder Statesman and select key product to accompany the trip.

Speaking about the partnership, Black Tomato founder Tom Marchant said: 2We’ve chosen four of Mr Porter’s partner designers whose work most reflects their respective lifestyles in four of the world’s most stunning travel destinations.

“At Black Tomato we always strive to get under the skin of a place, and what better way to do so than by looking at it through the eyes of a local whose work in fashion is an extension of their location and lifestyle.

“We’ve brought these destinations to life through four incredible videos and created new trips and insightful itineraries that explore a more local perspective of each destination.”

Mario Muttenthaler, Director of Sales and Marketing at Mr Porter, said: ‘We are hugely excited to be partnering with Black Tomato. Our customers live around the globe and they love to travel so this video series is the perfect marriage of travel and style inspiration.

"At Mr Porter we always aim to educate and inform about the brands we have available on site through our editorial content.

“This collaboration gives an opportunity to get to know the people behind four of our brands from a different perspective by exploring their day-to-day environment and the influence it has on their collections."

The remaining three videos will be released in sequence before the end of 2013 and will introduce Mr Porter designers from Miami, Japan and Scandinavia, with similar trips being ‘fashioned’ by Black Tomato for each of these destinations.
