New Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Timepiece Hits US Market

After launching at the prestigious Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva last January, the new Royal Oak Offshore 44mm Chronograph from Audemars Piguet is being introduced to the American market later this month.

The US release will be marked by an invitation-only party on August 22 at the exclusive Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey.

Boasting a distinctive octagonal shape, steel edges and prominent hexagonal screws, Royal Oak watches have become one of the world’s most iconic timepiece collections since the first creation arrived in 1972.

The new Offshore Chronograph has a 44mm case in a choice of stainless steel, forged carbon or pink gold. Each of the three available models has a ceramic bezel and pushers.

A combination of satin-brushed and polished finish for the pushers and satin-brushed applied crown guards lend the watch an updated look whilst retaining its classic design elements.

Decidedly bolder and larger than its predecessors, the new watch comes in three different material pairings: ceramics-steel, ceramics-forged carbon and ceramics-pink gold

The ceramics-steel version costs £18,400 ($30,000), the forged carbon model is priced at £20,300 ($33,100) and the pink gold variety retails at £34,300 ($55,600).
