Obscura CueLight animates the pool table

By superyachts.com

Blending unique modern technology with one of the world’s favourite past-times, Obscura Digital introduces the cutting-edge CueLight.

Their work on one of the world’s priciest pool tables is no exception with the table featuring sensors and motion detectors working with an overhead projector to create images across the traditionally green surface.

The movements of each ball reveals images beneath their path, a trail which can be modified to appear as flames or ripples through water.

The Obscura system costs about US$80,000 and can be incorporated to accompany most pool tables.

One version, one of only two CueLights currently in existence, sits aboard a US$125,000 pool table in the famed Esquire Ultimate Bachelor’s Pad in Soho, New York.

As if that wasn’t flashy enough, Obscura is working on new software to make the system even more eye-catching and play-assisting.
