Park Hyatt Makes Caribbean Debut at Christophe Harbour

By Paul Joseph

Christophe Harbour, one of the most impressive luxury developments to be built in the Caribbean in recent years, has added another notch to its belt with the opening of a new Park Hyatt hotel.

The first Park Hyatt to open anywhere in the Caribbean, the resort hotel is nestled on the secluded beach of Banana Bay at the foot of St. Kitts’ lush rolling hills and offers unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea and neighbouring island of Nevis.

Among the lavish amenities offered at the hotel include three signature restaurants, indoor and outdoor event spaces, two swimming pools, a wellness sanctuary for restorative peace, and the first Miraval Life in Balance Spa in the Caribbean.

Meanwhile all 78 guest rooms and 48 suites combine chic, contemporary architecture with colonial design. Quintessential Kittitian-inspired décor showcases views of the Caribbean Sea and the islands beyond, with luxurious touches such as private balconies and terraces, rain-showers and deep soaking tubs.

For the ultimate indulgence, the three-bedroom Presidential Villa is equipped with a private infinity pool, wellness area, personal butler and private chef.

“We are excited to debut the Park Hyatt brand experience on this incredible island that is brimming with rich culture, storied history, untapped adventure and pristine beaches,” says Myles McGourty, senior vice president, Latin America and Caribbean, Hyatt.

“Our discerning global guests will be welcomed with personalized service and contemporary elegance surrounded by sophisticated design, world-class artwork, the finest culinary expressions and Miraval’s deep-rooted expertise in wellness.”

To encourage guests’ island immersion, the hotel also offers a series of enriching “journeys” that have been carefully curated to introduce guests to the history, culture of the local area. Among these are walks with an island historian and rainforest excursions, and visiting the UNESCO Brimstone Hill Fortress that played a key role in Caribbean history.

Located on the southeast peninsula of St. Kitts, Christophe Harbour is home to a superyacht marina, yacht club, retail shops and a Tom Fazio golf course.
