Peninsula Hotel Offers MINI Breaks

By S. Liu

Manhattan’s famous yellow taxis may see a reduction in curb-side hailers after New York’s Peninsula Hotel began offering its guests free use of MINI Cooper cars.

Visitors who book into suites at the luxury hotel have access to a bespoke, chauffeur-driven MINI Cooper S Clubman car for up to three hours a day during their stay. The vehicles can be used for shopping excursions or sightseeing around Manhattan.

Each car is fitted with a tailor-made rooftop box, a mini-fridge, and an iPad or iPhone with customized tips on where to visit in the city.

Additionally, the hotel’s Chief Concierge, Frederick Bigler, has developed sight-seeing tours for guests who take up the novelty service.

The cars also include an illuminated Peninsula logo on the doors, leather finishing, and signature Peninsula Green paintwork.

The Peninsula Hotel chain has a long history of providing stylish rides for its guests, including a fleet of Rolls-Royces at the Peninsula Hong Kong.

Located in Mid-town Manhattan, the New York Peninsula includes 239 guest rooms. Its amenities include a contemporary American restaurant and 5-star rated ESPA spa.
