By superyachts.com

Own one of Patek Philippe’s true masterpieces for US$1.3 million in a rare sale by jewellery website SoKoBe.com.

Acknowledged as an extremely complicated watch, the Sky Moon Tourbillon is a rare collector’s piece that features approximately 694 handmade parts.

The first double-faced wristwatch to ever be created, the timepiece features a perpetual calendar on one side and a presentation of the nocturnal sky on the other with separate displays of moon orbit, phases and star movement.

With a hand-stitched leather strap and a buckle, front dial and moon symbols all in gold, the face is encased in 18 karat rose gold and measures 42.8 millimetres in diameter and 16.25 millimetres in height.

Sapphire crystals also adorn the watch, indicating the motion of the moon phases and sky chart. A calendar indicates hours, quarter-hours and minutes with perceptible gongs.

Due to its intricate and accurate make, Patek Philippe claims the watch won’t need to be corrected until the year 2100.

Online Director for SoKoBe.com Rudi Meron said they were proud to have the timepiece amongst their watch collection and that “The Sky Moon Tourbillon watch is the most sophisticated wristwatch ever made.”

Originally a private jewellery concierge service for business and celebrity clientele based in New York City, SoKoBe.com has expanded to become an online retail jewellery company that specializes in high-end luxury jewellery. They carry a sought-after collection of designer watches and allow customer’s to order jewellery straight from the wholesaler.
