Philippe Starck-Designed Luxury Hotel Opens in Miami
SLS Hotel South Beach, the latest addition to Miami’s landscape of luxury hotels, has opened complete with its distinctive design by iconic French designer Philippe Starck.
Located on Miami South Beach’s prestigious beachfront, the new residence is housed at the historic site of the former Ritz Plaza Hotel.
The hotel was created as part of a collaboration between SBE Entertainment Group – one of America’s largest hospitality, real estate and entertainment groups – Philippe Starck and award-winning chef José Andrés.
The tallest art deco structure in South Beach, the hotel blends Latin, Asian, contemporary and art deco influences and features a rooftop architectural design depicting a lantern reaching to the sky.
SBE Founder and CEO Sam Nazarian, said: “The collaboration at SLS Hotel South Beach demonstrates our mission to provide a lifestyle experience that is truly unmatched in the hospitality space.”
“The creative brilliance of Starck, Andrés and Kravitz will deliver an offering that captures the vivid and intoxicating essence of South Beach throughout every layer of the design, service and food and beverage.”
SLS Hotel South Beach opened to the public last month. Room prices range from around $615 for a standard double up to $1,550 for one of the hotel’s premium Villas.
