Phillipe Starck Designs Limited Edition Lamps
Prestigious Italian lighting company, Flos, have enlisted the help of renowned superyacht designer, Phillipe Starck for the design of their new product range, the “Hooo!!! And Haaa!!!” Floor and Table Lamps.
The Hooo!!! and Haaa!!! lamps, shown in production form this year, are a result of a collaboration between Starck, Flos, artist Jenny Holzer, electrical designer Moritz Waldemeyer and renowned crystal glass maker Baccarat. Both lamps are fitted with an LED display system running down the centre, which displays text programmed in by artist Jenny Holzer.
The text from the lamp's centre will be projected onto nearby surfaces, reportedly reading life affirming phrases such as “It is important to stay clean on all levels” and “It’s vital to live in harmony with nature”.
Phillipe Starck is the celebrated designer of the motor yacht ‘A’, the revolutionary 119m superyacht, which took to the waters in 2008. Motor Yacht A is considered to be one of the finest privately owned yachts, featuring remarkable exterior styling and a magnificent interior design from the visionary French designer.
For the Hooo!!! Table Lamp the price tag is set at €9,000 where as the Haaa!!! Floor Lamp is priced at €90,000 after only nine were made.
