Piaget Launches Ultra-Thin Altiplano Skeleton Timepiece

By Paul Joseph

Swiss luxury watch brand Piaget has created a new timepiece billed as the thinnest skeletonised automatic watch on the market.

Housed within a 38mm 18-carat white gold case, the Altiplano Skeleton timepiece boasts a 2.40mm Caliber 1200S movement and an entire case of just 5.34mm thickness – both claimed by Piaget to be world record measurements for a watch.

The movement, which can be seen through two AR coated sapphire crystals, also comes with a platinum micro-rotor coated in matte black.

Other notable features include black dauphine hands, satin brushed plate and bridges, a white gold ardillon buckle and a 44-hour power reserve.

The price of the Altiplano Skeleton, which will be on show at the up-coming SIHH watch air in Geneva, is expected to be approximately $60,000.
