Pierre DeRoche Launches “Six Second Hand” Timepiece

By P. Joseph

Luxury Swiss watch-maker Pierre DeRoche has created a new women’s addition for its GrandCliff range of timepieces.

The Calibre Royal Retro boasts a unique display of six retrograde second hands – the only watch in the Collection to offer such a feature.

On the visible movement, the hands take over from each other for ten seconds, creating an effect that the brand describes as “mechanical ballet”.

Featuring shaped bridges adorned with delicate motifs, the watch is enhanced by the placement of jewels in the movement and diamonds on the retrograde minutes bridges and on the bezel.

In addition to the hours, minutes and balletic seconds, the watch also has a date window at 6 o’clock, a screw down crown and is water resistant to 100 meters.

Pierre DeRoche launched its first watch in 2005. Founder and CEO, Pierre Dubois, boasts a family steeped in watch-making history: his great-grandfather Marcel Dépraz founded watch-maker Dubois-Dépraz in 1901.
