Porsche Announces Track-Only 911 GT2 RS Clubsport
German luxury carmaker Porsche have confirmed the design of a track-only racing car based on the road-going 991-generation 911 GT2 RS.
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport will be created in a limited run of 200 units and will retain the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat six from the street version that churns out 700 horsepower. The power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Inside, the cabin is minimalist and purely functional, focusing on the task of racing on tack. The steering wheel and display behind it are from the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 R race car, while it features a typical race car roll cage, bucket seat and six-point harness.
Porsche says the car has a dedicated switch that can turn off all assistance systems like Porsche’s stability management, traction control and ABS, on the fly. However, the cabin does feature an air conditioning system to keep the racer cool on the track.
The car’s 200 owners will be able to race the car during clubsport events, Porsche Club of America track days and certain motorsport meets.
Pricing for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport will start at $478,000.
