Porsche Boxster for 2013 Unveiled

German luxury car brand Porsche has released the first images of its 2013 Boxster model.

The mid-engined, open-top two-seater also comes with a new lightweight body with longer wheelbase, wider track, larger wheels and new electro-mechanical power steering.

Two versions of the new Porsche have been made: the Boxter and the Boxster S, with the former featuring a scaled-down 2.7 litre engine (its predecessor’s was 2.9 litre) and the latter fitted with a 3.4 litre engine.

Other notable features in both versions include tall, vertical headlights (replacing the previous oval-shaped ones), a rear spoiler seamlessly integrated beneath the rear deck lid, shorter overhands and a windscreen that sits further forward.

Customised options are also available including a sport chrono package with (for the first time on a Boxster) dynamic transmission mounts, and torque vectoring with a mechanical rear axle differential lock.

The new Boxster will go on sale in Germany in April priced €48,291 (£40,054) for the Boxster and €59,120 (£49,036) for the Boxster S.
