Porsche Family auctions private watch collection
Bonhams is gifting watch connoisseurs a rare opportunity to secure some truly unique timepieces when it auctions a collection belonging to the Porsche Family on December 2; just in time to appear under the Christmas tree.
Amongst the auction highlights are some unique pieces by Eterna and Porsche Design made especially for the family.
An Eterna 18-carat gold chronograph is one such piece, gifted to Dr. Ferdinand Oliver Porsche for his 40th birthday and currently estimated somewhere between £4000 and £6000.
Other unique lots include two prototypes by Porsche Design; an automatic wristwatch estimated between £1800 and £2200, and a Dashboard PTR-Titan Rattrapante estimated between £300 and £5000.
The Porsche Family will also auction off one of only 50 KonTiki Anniversary Limited Edition watches, still in its carved wooden presentation box, a 1987 Rolex Explorer II, and the stainless steel Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox Polaris. The latter two are expected to fetch between £5000 and £7000.
The auction will be held in the Bonhams showrooms on London’s New Bond Street on December 2 with all proceeds going to charity.
