Power, Elegance & Utility: Introducing Superfly GT 42

By Paul Joseph

Scandinavian boat designers Flying Flipper have created a high performance superboat billed as a gam changer for racing vessels.

Called the Superfly GT 42, the boat combines outstanding driving and racing performance with the ultimate in family comfort, all wrapped up in beautiful modern Scandinavian design

With its unique fusion of power, elegance and utility, the vessel pushes the boundaries of sports driving pleasure. The company worked closely with award winning RED Yacht Design to create the boat’s distinctive exterior and the interior.

Produced by using light weight carbon, allowing maximum strength at minimum weight costs, the Superfly GT 42 also features a striking automatic glass hard top.

In terms of technical specifications, the boat can be ordered in a hybrid version with two outboard engines and an electric motor in the centre. The helmsmen simply has to tilt up the two outboard engines, start the electric engine and you can slow cruise along the shore with no pollution, or harbour cruise in total silence.

Designed as a social boat where you want to spend time with your friends and family, the Superfly GT 42 is also the only boat in the segment that offers a forward cabin and aft cabin. The saloon contains a spacious living area combined with a full sized high tech kitchen and a dinner table.

Meanwhile in the cockpit, you will find a spacious U-shaped sofa that within seconds transforms into face forward seats.

Flying Flipper began life as a race boat project in the early seventies by the legendary racing driver and boat constructor, Sigurd Isacsson.
