Rare Porsche & Ferraris to go Under the Hammer

An upcoming Silverstone UK auction dedicated to Ferrari and Porsches is to feature two highly sought-after models, it has been confirmed.

The one day sale will see a whole host of Porsche and Ferrari cars and automobile paraphernalia go under the hammer

In the Porsche sale, Silverstone Auctions will have a Porsche Carrerar GT finished in Bassalt Black and a matching black interior and just 4,300 miles on the clock as one of their headline cars.

Estimated to fetch £600,000 to £650,000, the Carrera GT was an exclusive run of just 1270 cars fitted with a 5.5-litre V10 engine, which was originally designed for the race track, first in Formula One and then Sportscars but due to cancelled projects, it found its way into the Carrera GT.

This particular 2005 car was a German delivered example and then spent the majority of its life in Italy where it was serviced by Pavoda Porsche. It comes with the full carbon pack, £8,000 Porsche luggage set and full-body paint protection.

The sale will also feature a Ferrari 512 BB, which was launched in 1976 at the Paris Show and is equipped with the 5.0 litre 12-cylinder boxer engine – hence the model name 512 and the BB, referring to Berlinetta Boxer.

Just 929 of these cars were made until it was replaced in 1981, and out of these 929, only 101 were right-hand-drive.

Finished in the classic colour combination of Rosso over Nero with a Nero hide upholstery the model has been in private ownership since 2012 and is estimated at £190,000 to £220,000.

Harry Whale auction manager for Silverstone Auctions, commented: "These are two fabulous cars for our Sale of Ferraris and Porsche. Both of them are special in their own right.

“The Carrera GT is particularly special with the V10 engine. Who knows if Porsche will ever produce an engine like this again, so this presents a superb opportunity for someone to own one of these exceptional hypercars.”

“Both the Ferrari BB and the Porsche are in a condition that would be hard to match with such low mileage in the current market.”

A Sale of Ferrari & Porsche 2019 will take place at the Dallas Burston Polo Club in Warwickshire on 20-21 September.
