Richard Mille Launches Limited Edition RM 022 Timepiece
Swiss luxury watchmaker Richard Mille has unveiled the RM 022 carbon timepiece, boasting an ultra high-tech case said to be 200 times lighter than steel.
Limited globally to just 5 exclusive pieces, the RM 022 tourbillon combines orthorhombic honeycombed titanium aluminide and carbon nanofibre to create an ultra light-weight timepiece.
The case has been made using ultra-strong carbon nanotubes, which are injection moulded under high pressure into a black polymer, creating a robust composite. The nanotubes are capable of absorbing far stronger impacts than traditional carbon fibre.
The watch also boasts dual time capabilities and a robust 70 hour power reserve.
The five editions of the RM 022 will be available from select retailers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia.
