Richard Mille Opens First Store in Germany

By Paul Joseph

Swiss luxury watchmaker Richard Mille has opened its first ever German store in the heart of Munich.

Located at the eastern end of Maximilianstrasse, one of Munich’s four royal avenues, the new boutique covers 160 square metres on two levels and features a full array of Richard Mille watch collections, including Sports, Ladies, Lifestyle, Tourbillons and limited editions.

The building’s neo-gothic style invited a firm approach to designing the boutique inside, and meticulous attention to the choice of materials.

The wall coverings, done in black “elephant hide” leather and Macassar ebony, like the brushed steel edging, distinctly recall the design tropes of Richard Mille’s original boutiques.

Natural light plays throughout the space, reinforcing its modernism and gentle curves. The latter, articulated in both the ceilings and walls, breathe life into both levels throughout the day.

Crackled and mirrored glass also contribute to the boutique’s modern feel, connecting the ground floor with the upper level, which houses a Richard Mille workshop dedicated to ensuring the satisfaction of the brand’s dedicated wearers and collectors.

The Richard Mille watch brand was founded in 2001.
