The Ritz Paris, one of Europe’s most iconic hotels, is to close at the end of July for an unprecedented two year programme of renovations.

The €200 million revamp will include restoration of the hotel’s rooms, suites, spa, restaurants and Ritz Escoffier cooking school, headed by world renowned interior designer Thierry W. Despont.

Matthieu Goffard, PR manager of the hotel, confirmed that the last dinner will be served at the Ritz’s L’Espadon restaurant on July 31.

The legendary Hemingway bar, named after the American writer Ernest Hemingway, closed earlier this year prior to the renovations.

Guests wanting to experience the hotel in its current guise for the very last time have until 31st July to do so. Rooms are currently priced at €850 euros per night.

The Ritz Paris opened to the public in 1898.
