Rivamare: The Stylish New Tender from Riva

By Ben Roberts

Riva has rewritten the rules of timeless elegance with the launch of their new flagship, the Rivamare. Launched at the historic shipyard in Sarnico, this 11.88 metre boat is the latest on the superyacht tender wishlist.

The Rivamare was born on the drawing boards of Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, sole designers of the entire Riva fleet and heads of the Officina Italiana Design firm.

The sleek nature of the Rivamare creates a distinctive profile, with double-curved laminated crystal window at the level of the cabin and remarkable windscreen with five double-curved laminated crystal glass sections set in a stainless steel frame.

“The conception, design and construction of the new and remarkable Rivamare has been a very exciting experience for us”, comments Alberto Galassi, CEO of the Ferretti Group. “A masterpiece created in our magnificent, completely renovated boatyard in Sarnico, with a production line exclusively dedicated to the new model, taking forward Carlo Riva’s dream to always build the most beautiful boat."

The gloss varnished mahogany panelling on the deck is enhanced by a central glass pane set in a stainless steel frame, allowing more natural light to come in. The stern even has a beach area, with a hatch - with built in mahogany steps - swings open to reveal a large surface area for relaxation.

The new speedboat is the worthy successor of masterworks like Aquariva Super and, before that, Aquarama: it combines the style and charm of these legendary models with the most cutting edge technologies, and offers the greatest care for every detail, together with a level of comfort and spaces never seen before in boats of this size", continues Galassi. "Rivamare is a leap into the future, forged in the Riva tradition: a motorboat born to be memorable.”

Other design elements include a pilothouse which draws inspiration from the driver’s cabin in sports cars, carbon fibre panels, relaxation areas, space for three up front and iconic searchlight, keeping the traditions of the Riva boat even as it continues to evolve.

The interior space is a luxurious, open area consisting of a kitchen, a bathroom with separate shower and a living area in the bow that converts into a double bed; offering ultimate comfort at at rest or reaching up to 40 knots.

The new Rivamare will make it's official debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival from the 6-11 September.
