Roberto Cavalli Opens Miami Restaurant & Lounge

By Paul Joseph

Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli has branched out into high-end dining by opening a new restaurant and bar in the heart of Miami South Beach.

Located on Ocean Drive, the Cavalli Miami Restaurant & Lounge opened its doors on New Year’s Eve, billed as offering traditional Italian cuisine from the country’s Tuscany region. Cavalli was born in Florence, Tuscany in 1940.

Spread over two floors, the restaurant was designed by Italian architect Italo Rota and styled to resemble Mediterranean Art Deco architecture. The interior features a host of Cavalli hallmarks, including chairs and table covered with Cavalli’s signature leopard and floral prints.

Amongst the dishes on offer at the restaurant are blue crab gnocchi and risotto with Ligurian prawns, whilst an extensive wine list features bottles sourced from Cavalli-owned vineyards in Florence.

The first ever Roberto Cavalli boutique opened in Saint-Tropez, France in 1972. Today he is one of the world’s most recognised fashion designers.
