Rolex Opens its Largest Ever Boutique in Dubai

Historic watch brand Rolex has opened its largest ever boutique in the millionaire’s middle east playground of Dubai.

Located at the Dubai Mall, the store is spread across an impressive 850 square metres, with three floors of retail space showcasing the brand’s enduringly popular pieces.

Operated by Dubai based luxury retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the design of the space – both inside and out – was inspired by Rolex watches past and present.

The store includes an eye-catching chandelier made by a Czech glass specialist and inspired by Rolex’s patented cyclops, a bubble-like magnifying element that lets watch owners clearly see the date on certain models.

On the mezzanine floor features include walls with a leather-trim and gold-leaf, gold watch indexes and appliques. There’s also a screening room where Rolex enthusiasts can view short films that explore the history and heritage of the brand.

Tennis star and Rolex ambassador Roger Federer along with  Rolex CEO Jean-Frederic Dufour were present for the official opening of the store.

Founded by Hans Wildorf and Alfred Davis in London in 1905 as Wilsdorf and Davis, Rolex moved its base of operations to Geneva, Switzerland in 1919.

Today the brand is the world’s largest and most prolific single luxury watchmaker, producing about 2,000 watches per day.
