Rolls-Royce Celebrates “10 Years of Excellence”

By Paul Joseph

As the clock struck midnight this time last week, for iconic British car brand Rolls-Royce the moment had extra special meaning- representing the 10 year anniversary of its Goodwood headquarters in West Sussex, UK.

A decade ago, the West Sussex facility opened its doors for business, with the first car presented to the first customer at precisely one minute into 2013.

Since that day, the factory has grown to the point where it now builds up to 20 cars a day, across a product range spanning two model families (Phantom and Ghost) and six models.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, chief executive officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said: "Rolls-Royce is a great British manufacturing success story and I am very proud to celebrate 10 Years of Excellence.

"The renaissance of the world's most famous automotive brand and the creation and development of the home of Rolls-Royce has been an extraordinary and successful journey.

“I applaud the Rolls Royce team at Goodwood and across the world for their passion and together we can look forward to the next ten years with great optimism.”

In addition to being hugely important in the enduring success of Rolls-Royce, the manufacturing plant has also provided a significant boost to the local Goodwood economy, employing more than 1400 people, many of whom live locally.
