Rolls-Royce Create £37,000 Champagne Chest

By Paul Joseph

Iconic British car marquee Rolls-Royce has revealed a lavish new Champagne Chest designed to be housed in everything from the terrace of a private residence to a superyacht.

Described by the carmaker as an “accouterment intended to delight, suitable for the most extravagant of environments”, the chest boasts the same high quality and craftsmanship that are hallmarks of Rolls-Royce cars.

The piece has a machined aluminium and carbon fibre chassis which is covered in high-quality leather and Tudor Oak wood – the same that can be found in Rolls-Royce cars. The distinctive Spirit of Ecstasy logo can be seen in the subtlest.

On the press of a button, the top and sides of the chest extend outwards to reveal four hand-blown, crystal, champagne flutes that have been arranged to evoke a V12 engine.

The case is illuminated from the central bay that highlight the flutes which have a polished aluminium base with ‘RR’ lettering on them. The sides of the Chest also deploy to reveal two hammocks to cradle the owner’s choice of Champagne, while the lid extends into a serving tray.

“The Champagne Chest by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is a contemporary and sociable addition to the Accessories Collection,” Gavin Hartley, Head of Bespoke Design at Rolls, says.

“The approach is that of designing a Rolls-Royce motor car; the finest materials are married with pinnacle engineering to provide an experience like no other.

“The Champagne Chest is crafted for those that seek a heightened sense of occasion in an elegant, entertaining manner and offers the irresistible allure of gadgetry.”

The Rolls-Royce Champagne Chest will be available through the brand’s dealerships worldwide with a price-tag of £37,000.
