Royal Palm Marrakech Opens its Doors

By Paul Joseph

A beautiful new luxury hotel has opened in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh, set against the stunning backdrop of the Atlas mountains.

Representing the first residence owned by Mauritian hotel group Beachcomber to be located outside the Indian Ocean region, the Royal Palm Marrakech is nestled within the vast Domaine Royal Palm estate and features 135 suites and villas.

The hotel’s manicured gardens are set among ancient olive trees while a 18-hole golf course is dotted with picturesque lakes.

Designed by Jean-François Adam, the hotel features a host of exotic décor pieces including Tataoui ceiling drops, moucharaby (oriel windows), tadelakt lime plaster, Zouak wood paintings, Moroccan carpets with Berber Motifs and ceramic tiles from Zagora.

The villas range in size, all the way up to 4,515 square metres, each equipped with a private pool and hammam, plus scenic view of the Domaine’s golf course and snow-capped Atlas Mountains.

In March, Royal Palm will become the only hotel in Morocco boasting a Clarins spa, spread over 4,200 square metre and offering 15 treatment rooms, relaxation areas with steam rooms, a swimming pool and a yoga room.

Beachcomber are renowned for owning some of the best hotels, resorts and villas across Mauritius and the Seychelles.
