Scottish Whisky Distillery Adds Three New Expressions

By P. Joseph

Scottish whisky maker Benromach has added three new expressions to its award-winning range, each offering an age, style and strength distinctive of the boutique distillery.

Firstly, the brand has launched Benromach Wood Finish Hermitage, a smoky single malt with a distinctly French flavour, matured in sherry and bourbon casks, before being transferred into oak casks for 22 months.

Secondly, matured in bourbon barrels, Benromach Cask Strength is a smooth single malt with hints of spice, earthy influences and a delicate peaty edge - bottled at 59.9% ABV.

Finally, Benromach 30 Years Old is a smooth and creamy single malt with hints of sherry and spices. Matured in Sherry casks, the bright gold medium malt also has hints of peat.

David Urquhart, Joint Managing Director of Gordon & MacPhail, owners of Benromach Distillery said: “The Benromach portfolio now offers something to suit a wide range of palates and demonstrates the skill of our master distillers in maturing and distilling.

“While different in taste, they all have that recognisable Benromach quality, which is achieved by using the finest malted barley, pure spring water from the Romach Hills and the highest quality casks.”

Benromach single malt whiskies are available from whisky shops and fine wine and spirits retail specialists.
