Six Senses to Open its First Resort in Iceland

By Paul Joseph

Renowned luxury resort operator Six Senses is set to make its debut amid the beautiful landscapes of Iceland.

Spread across 4,000 acres of privately-owned land in Svínhólar near Lóni., the new Six Senses resort will be surrounded by a mountain range and the vast Össurá Valley and River.

Its location makes it ideal for activities such as dog sledding, horseback riding, ice, rock climbing, bird watching and boat trips.

Slated to open in 2022, the first phase of the project will see the opening of a 70-guestroom resort and private cottages.

Speaking about the new resort, Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses, said, “This development epitomizes our commitment to finding locations where guests can be right in the heart of nature, and where they will come face-to-face with the raw beauty, power, and soul of this magical destination.

“It will also appeal to experience-seekers looking for something uniquely joyful and playful. Legend holds that mystical elves still occupy the rocks and cliffs of this land.”

Founded in 1995, Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas has a wide number of residences located across the world.
