SJ Villas Introduces New Luxury Beachhouse in Goa

By Paul Joseph

One of the notable trends in the luxury travel industry in recent years has been the proliferation of ultra-luxury private villas, offering the solitude that comes with staying in your own home but with all the services and amenities of a top class hotel.

SJ Villas, who have a dazzling portfolio of such properties dotted around the world, have just added another to their roster: a beautiful beachhouse in Goa.

Located in the north of the island, a two-hour drive from Goa International Airport, the newly built Redi House sleeps eight and is set among traditional village houses with a small path leading directly onto a deserted beach.

The luxurious house boasts a contemporary colonial style, with whitewashed walls, traditional wooden furniture and a large daybed.

Goan-based, international interior designer, Alice von Baum, has used locally sourced materials throughout, including bespoke tiled floors and cupboard doors made of shells and an eclectic and stylish mix of furnishings.

Judy Menier, co-founder of SJ Villas, said: “It’s unusual to find a stylish beach house in remote Northern Goa. This gem of a house will appeal to those Indiaphiles and more intrepid travellers looking for a little box of luxury at the end of their travels.”

The spacious open plan ground floor has a modern kitchen, dining area and a large open plan living room with doors opening up onto a terrace with an outdoor dining area, sun loungers and an outdoor shower.

The master and guest suites both open onto private terraces with views out to the beach and sea, while the large “dorm” is perfect for teenagers as it has a double and two twin beds and its own bathroom.

Prices start from $1,250 per night and the house comes with a house boy, a cook on request, air conditioning and ceiling fans.
