Sony Launch $70,000 LED Flagship Television

Japanese brand Sony have unveiled their full 2019 television set line-up, including the range-topping flagship 98-inch 8K LED/LCD TV, priced at a cool $70,000.

The 98-inch TV is equipped with Sony’s Ultimate processor, which allows the upscaling of content for the TV and the filling up 33 million pixels.

Pricing drops substantially as you go down Sony’s 2019 range of TVs, with the 85-inch model of the Master Series Z9G priced at $13,000.

Next in the range are televisions capable of 4K content, with the Master Series A9G OLED line which is priced higher than last year’s A8F line with a starting price of $3,500 for the 55-inch version. This goes all the way up to $8,000 for the 77-inch edition.

Along with the same Picture Processor X1 Ultimate chip found on the Master Series Z9G line, it gets Netflix Calibrated Mode, IMAX Enhanced and AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support that will come as an update soon.

At the bottom of the 2019 lineup that comprises of 17 models in total is the X800G 4K HDR TV, which starts at $650 for the 43-inch model and tops out at $2,000 for the 75-inch version.

Last year fellow technology giants Samsung launched the Q900 television set, priced at an eye-popping $100,000.
