Sophie Matisse chess sets challenge the intellect
Adding an artistic flair to the strategic game of chess is Sophie Matisse, the great-grand daughter of world-famous painter Henri Matisse.
Painted in classic Matisse style, the art works seek to challenge the intellect while at the same time appearing genuinely pleasing to the senses.
Colours of red, blue, white, black, green and yellow create exotic shapes on the stunning chess boards, surrounded by a border and base of dark wood.
The truly limited edition chess sets will be showcased in an exhibition titled “The Art of the Game” to be displayed at the prestigious Beyond the Border International Contemporary Art Fair (BTB) in San Diego.
