Southern Proper Launch Spring Collection

By P. Joseph

Atlanta-based apparel company Southern Proper have unveiled their Spring Collection of neckties, bowties and accessories, all inspired by the Southern way of life and dressing.

Designed for men who appreciate the South, each bowtie and necktie is adorned by hand-drawn designs and crafted with what the designers claim is “a touch of Southern charm”.

The new range was designed by Southern Proper co-founders Emmie Claire Howard and Reagan Hardy Howell, who aimed to combine their appreciation for heritage and fashion to create clothes and accessories unique to the South.

Much of the company’s clothing portrays a preppy look containing dress-trousers or khakis, a button-down shirt, a natural-shoulder sport coat or jacket, a bow tie or neck tie, and loafers with tassels or boat shoes.

Ms Hardy Howell was born and raised on the porches of the Carolina coast, while Ms Claire Howard grew up on a cotton farm in the Tennessee Delta.

The new line is available online and in boutique stores throughout the US.

Southern Proper was founded in late 2005.
