Spyder well-suited to sunny weather

By

This summer's must-have sun accessory isn't high-velocity tanning cream, it's a three-wheeled roadster called the Spyder.

The Can-Am Spyder comes equipped with an easy semiatuomatic transmission, similar to a car with paddle shifters, and a Rotax 990 V-twin engine ready to do 115 screaming miles per hour, though we wouldn't recommend it. There is an extended line of sport and touring packages available, including the SM5 manual model, as well as the option for phantom-black body panels: standard colours for the Spyder are bright yellow and black.

Equipped with two front wheels and an extra-wide back wheel, the Spyder offers a steady ride easy for beginning riders to grasp. The semiautomatic transmission isn't as confusing as it sounds: the shifter is located on the left handlebar while the throttle is on the right.

Due to be dubbed a 'toy of the summer' by the Robb Report, these hot little vehicles are a necessary addition to the exploratory arsenal of every home or superyacht.
