Times are good at Rolls-Royce right now. Not only did the iconic British car brand recently announce record sales, but it also has a truly exciting new addition to the Rolls-Royce family to look forward to next month.

Superyachts.com’s Shari Liu sat down with Tamara Grove, Regional Marketing Manager at Rolls-Royce, at the recent Miami Boat Show to find out more about the company’s stellar sales figures, the heritage of the brand, and the imminent arrival of the Rolls-Royce Wraith.

You can see the full video interview about this article.

Shari Liu: There’s been a lot of exciting developments at Rolls-Royce, can you tell us what’s been going on?
Tamara Grove: Well 2012 was an exceptional year for Rolls-Royce, and we actually hit record sales for the brand. We’re hoping to continue on that path for 2013.

SL: What brings you to Miami?
TG: We’re here for the boat show. Being at the boat show, I would say it’s the most amazing opportunity to see what’s new in the world of yachting, and our clients are very similar to those in the yachting industry. We happen to share the same clients as many of them like to style their yachts and also their luxury automobiles with the same bespoke features. So it’s great to be here to see what’s new and also to get a feel for what’s piquing their interest.

SL: Would you say there’s a lot of yacht owners that you know that drive Rolls-Royces or have their drivers drive them, I should say?
TG: Absolutely. We find that there’s a lot of cross-over between the two.

SL: What are the key markets that Rolls-Royce are focussing on right now?
TG: Well here in the US it’s a very important market as a whole, and within the US we’ve got New York, Los Angeles, here in Miami of course, and then Dallas and Chicago.

SL: What do you think the key has been in Rolls-Royce keeping up their unique identity over the years?
TG: Well heritage is very important to Rolls-Royce and a lot of brands today can lose sight of that, and that’s one thing that we definitely want to remain focussed on. And the fact that we’re going to continue to build the most beautiful cars in the world, we will always strive for that perfection and to appeal to the right consumer.

SL: Can you tell us what Rolls-Royce have planned for the next few years?
TG: There’s actually a very exciting new introduction that we have coming this year. It’s a new model and it’s called the Rolls-Royce Wraith and it will be introduced at the Geneva Motor Show for the first time to the public. There will be a reveal on March 5th. It’s a real stunner and I think it will definitely stand out from the rest of the Rolls-Royce family.

SL: Is there anything else you can tell us about it?
TG: It’s a little bit top secret right now so I think people will just have to wait and see! They can go to our website and see a teaser.

SL: Is it maybe to appeal to a different demographic?
TG: Absolutely. Our brand is definitely appealing to a larger female audience, a younger demographic, and that will continue to grow the Rolls-Royce brand for sure.
