Tag Heuer Creates Water Resistant Smartphone

By Paul Joseph

Swiss luxury watch and mobile phone brand Tag Heuer have created a new luxury smartphone featuring technology said to make it fully water resistant.

Limited to just 500 pieces, the Android-based Sub Nano smartphone incorporates the ground-breaking ‘Waterblock’ nano-technology, which protects the phone’s internal electrical components from water and moisture.

The model is a new addition to Tag Heuer’s Racing collection of mobile phones, and features many of the same components that can be found in the original Tag Heuer Racer, such as a large 3.5 inch display, a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, a 640 x 480 pixel VGA video front camera, and its signature Android operating system.

The Sub Nano is also equipped with download access to over 400,000 applications and comes fully loaded with a host of Tag Heuer add-ons including animations, wallpapers, icons, ring tones, customized screen designs, and outstanding widgets to personalize the home screen.

The Sub Nano handset can now be pre-ordered online and is priced at €5,000 (£4,228).

Tag Heuer was founded by Edouard Heuer in St-Imier, Switzerland in 1860.
