The Albed Line: A Versatile Shelving System

By P. Joseph

Amongst the exhibits on display at the prestigious Salone de Mobile furniture show in Milan earlier this month was a unique and versatile shelving system

Designed by Daniele Lo Scalzo Moscheri, the Albed Line is described as “an intelligent modular system in which the shelves become structural” and is targeted at those wanting multi-functional, space-spacing furniture.

The modular shelving system has painted aluminum profiles and lacquered compartments in stacked layers, enabling owners to adjust the dividers and containers to suit their liking. It can be used as a cupboard, a bookcase or a TV stand, with enough space to accommodate hi-fi speakers.

The shelves also come with a sound system from Chario, with two music speakers in the TV cabinet version, along with a subwoofer to enhance the acoustic performance. There is also a unit that features an iPod/iPhone dock attachment in its upper section, and a folding panel with acoustic fabric that allows music to freely pass through.

The Salone de Mobile took place between 12th – 17th April.
