The £300,000 Cat's Eye Tourbillon from Girard-Perregaux

By P. Joseph

Boasting over 20 carats of diamonds, the Cat's Eye Tourbillon Haute Joaillerie timepiece is a truly lavish creation.

Designed by Swiss luxury watch-makers Girard-Perregaux, the timepiece features an oval-shaped face resembling a cat’s eye.

The watch required over 700 hours of work to create, with its precious stones coming in various cuts, all dotted over the 18k white gold case, as well as the crown and dial.

Inside the watch is a specially-designed Girard-Perregaux caliber GP09700-0006 manually wound tourbillon movement, with a power reserve of approximately three days. The Tourbillon escapement is visible on the dial using a traditional GP style bridge.

Attached to the watch’s strap is a gray satin strap with a white gold buckle, as well as more diamonds.

The watch is priced at £300,000 (€340,000).
